The dual-narrator format — serious science voice versus the dinosaurs' own insistent counter-narrative — is genuinely inventive and does something most dinosaur picture books don't: it makes the act of questioning and comparing sources part of the fun. Sturgell packs in real science about the Chicxulub impact and extinction events without losing the humor, and the back matter adds another layer for curious kids. The text runs slightly long for the youngest readers, but for the 5-to-8 sweet spot it's a standout 2024 release.
