Earth Science, Global Edition

Edward J. Tarbuck Β· 2014
80/100
πŸ‘ Worth It

Tarbuck and Lutgens built one of the most widely adopted introductory Earth science textbooks in the world, and the Global Edition adapts it for an international classroom. Geology, oceanography, meteorology, and astronomy all get careful, accessible coverage, backed by an exceptional visual program β€” detailed illustrations, photographs, and SmartFigures with QR-linked video. The writing assumes minimal prior science background, which makes it genuinely usable for a wide range of students. The 2014 Global Edition is the honest caveat here: Earth science moves fast, and a decade of additional climate and geological research means this edition is showing its age. The book presents mainstream scientific consensus on deep geological time and climate, which some readers should know going in. A strong textbook in its category, just in need of a current edition.
