Elephant Herds and Rhino Horns
This 1982 nonfiction entry in the Animal Safari Nature Library series pairs text and photographs to introduce young readers to elephants, rhinoceroses, and other large land mammals β their characteristics, habits, and behavior both in the wild and in captivity. For a child who loves animals, the text-and-photo format is a natural fit. The honest reality, though, is that this book is out of print and nearly impossible to track down, and no meaningful critical reviews exist to confirm how well it actually holds up. Conservation data from 1982 is also well out of date. If a copy comes your way secondhand, it's likely a pleasant read for a young naturalist β but don't go out of your way to hunt it down.
