The underlying Joseph Jacobs scholarship is solid — this is an authoritative 19th-century collection of English folklore — but this 2018 eBook edition adds nothing: no new editorial work, no context, just public-domain text repackaged for Kindle. You can find the same Jacobs text free on Project Gutenberg. The eBook-only format also makes it less useful as a read-aloud resource than a physical collection would be.
