Fairy Tales From Many Lands

Katharine Pyle · 2025
66/100
👎 Skip It

Katharine Pyle's multicultural fairy tale collection is a genuine historical artifact — it pulls from Serbian, African, Native American, and other traditions at a time when most English anthologies stayed resolutely European, and her own illustrations add a period charm. The print-on-demand editions unfortunately strip out the editorial apparatus (no table of contents, no index) that would make the collection actually usable, which drags an otherwise interesting find down to a conditional recommendation.
