Fifteen classic tales in one illustrated gift book is a solid value proposition for parents of young children, and the moral lessons are intact. But the retellings bring nothing new, the title unnecessarily genders the readership, and the illustrations earn no particular distinction — there are better illustrated fairy tale collections available at similar price points.
