Goodnight Olive and the Moon, It's Almost Bedtime

Melissa Ryan Β· 2016
75/100
πŸ‘ Worth It

Melissa Ryan's personalized bedtime series does one thing: it puts your child's name at the center of a soothing moon-and-sleep story so they hear themselves spoken throughout. For toddlers, that's genuinely engaging β€” hearing your own name in a story is its own kind of magic. The format is gentle, the pacing is calm, and it's completely family-safe. The honest caveat is that outside the personalization hook there's very little story here: no narrative arc, no memorable characters, no illustrations that have been independently reviewed. It's a gift-market product more than a literary one, and once the novelty of the name wears off, there's not much left. Fine as a one-time read-aloud gift; not a book that grows with a child.
