These are the real Grimm tales, not the Disney-softened versions — wicked stepmothers, clever youngest children, and consequences that actually land. Only 21 of the brothers' 200-plus tales made the cut, so parents of younger or sensitive kids will want to preview first, but the storytelling itself holds up beautifully. Jim Dale, Alfred Molina, and Katherine Kellgren turn in an award-worthy ensemble performance well worth the listen.
