This three-hour collection gathers Andersen's most beloved tales — the Ugly Duckling, the Little Mermaid, the Tin Soldier — with all the bittersweet wisdom that made him a giant of the form. It's a selection rather than the complete works, but what's here is faithfully told and genuinely moving. And with Juliet Stevenson, Alan Cumming, and that whole starry cast trading off stories, the narration itself is a real treat worth the listen.
