A solid early-reader workhorse: the full-alphabet rhyming parade gives beginning readers both pattern support and the satisfaction of finishing the whole alphabet in one sitting. It's functional rather than literary, and the parade of random objects won't stick in a child's memory the way a real story would, but for phonics practice it does exactly what it promises. A good shelf staple alongside more story-driven early readers.
