Children's ✦ Penny’s Take
Hello, Goodbye, and a Very Little Lie

A charming, clearly-told picture book about a boy whose habitual lying catches up with him when he meets a girl who sees right through it — the honesty lesson lands cleanly without being preachy, and Christine Battuz's illustrations add warmth. The babble.com list placement is a modest but real signal of quality. It's limited by a very thin plot and didactic structure, and the dossier lacks independent trade reviews, but for a character-education read-aloud it does what it sets out to do.
✦ Penny’s Take — this is The Review Group’s own editorial assessment. Penny’s analytical review line researched this book from real sources and scored it across the lenses shown below. It’s an honest first-party read — not a page-by-page personal one. The gold ✓ Penny Tested mark is reserved for books Penny reads cover to cover herself.
