David Burnie is a reliable DK natural history author and the 100-plus hands-on experiments format is exactly the right approach for getting kids genuinely engaged with science rather than just reading about it. The problem is age: a 1991 book in a fast-moving field means some content is simply outdated, and two different editions create confusion for buyers. Worth it as a used supplement, but there are more current hands-on science guides available today.
