I Can't Talk Yet, But When I Do...

Julie Markes · 2003
80/100
👍 Worth It

The baby-narrator premise is simple and it sounds like a one-joke book — but Markes and Rader pull it off with real wit and genuine heart. Publishers Weekly's 'smart and sympathetic' call is earned: the humor lands because the observations are specific and true, and the older sibling reads it knowing they are the hero of the story. One of the better new-sibling read-alouds in this batch.
