Sesame Street's brand carries enormous trust with parents and educators, and Tom Brannon's illustrations are warm and familiar. But the story itself is essentially a delivery vehicle for a social-emotional message with very little narrative invention — a safe purchase for Sesame Street fans, not a compelling one for anyone else.
