👎 Skip It

A light, clean 1990s teen romance that does its job for reluctant middle-school readers — nothing harmful here, and the short length is a genuine asset for kids who need a quick win. But the plot is formulaic even by the standards of the Love Stories imprint, character depth is thin, and there's very little critical record to suggest it rises above its peers in the genre. Nostalgic readers may enjoy it; for anyone new to the shelf there are stronger options.
