Joan Mark brings Margaret Mead's fifty-year career to life in quick-paced, adventure-style prose that makes anthropology genuinely exciting for middle and high schoolers. At 112 pages it cannot do justice to the academic controversies surrounding Mead's Samoan research, but it is a credible Oxford series title that holds up well as an introduction. A good gateway biography for students who will go deeper elsewhere.
