For a 1990s Scholastic classroom resource, this is a solid and well-organized collection — 24 stories from genuinely diverse cultural traditions, with teaching materials built in. The problem is that it's a 1993 teacher tool, not a trade book: the cultural framing reflects older pedagogical conventions, it's only available used, and it's most useful as an assigned classroom supplement rather than something to seek out for family reading.
