Children's ✦ Penny’s Take
My Nature Exploration
Vicente Harrison · 2018
72/100
👍 Worth It
Vicente Harrison spotted a real gap — children of color seeing themselves as belonging in the outdoors — and built something practical around it, complete with back-of-book activities that extend the story into the backyard. Portland Audubon stocking it is meaningful validation for a self-published title. The lyrical prose has some rough patches, but the mission and the activities more than carry the book.
