This board book fills a real gap for families with two mothers, and the cheerful daily-routine format is age-appropriate and gentle. Even Kirkus acknowledged the representation matters while noting the execution is merely okay and there is room for better books. Faith-sensitive families should know the premise is central, not incidental. Worth considering for the families it serves, but the tepid critical verdict keeps it from a stronger recommendation.
β¦ Penny’s Take β this is The Review Group’s own editorial assessment. Penny’s analytical review line researched this book from real sources and scored it across the lenses shown below. It’s an honest first-party read β not a page-by-page personal one. The gold β Penny Tested mark is reserved for books Penny reads cover to cover herself.
β Parent note β our reviewers flagged: Central premise depicts same-sex parent family; faith-sensitive or theologically traditional families should preview before sharing with young children. We still scored it 64; these are context for your family, not an automatic skip.
