Joseph Bruchac draws from across the Native American world — Mohawk, Hopi, Yaqui, Haida, and more — to present twenty-four traditional animal stories grounded in a worldview that treats animals as genuinely wise, spiritually significant, and deserving of deep respect. The Fadden family's Mohawk-sourced illustrations lend cultural authenticity that matters here.
