Desert tortoises, Gila monsters, prairie dogs, and coyotes introduced through the footprint-reading device — there's genuine appeal for young animal lovers here, and the series format keeps things consistent. But the same limitations that apply to the other Footprints volumes apply here: short, out of print, no reviews, and hard to find. There are better-documented desert nature books for this age group available today.
