Nimbus is a genuinely imaginative fantasy — a plucky cat, a kind witch, and a found family that Kirkus rightly called cathartic — but faith-based families should know upfront it leans on a witch character and a nightmare demon antagonist, even within a clearly fictional, non-occult-glorifying frame. The abandonment and peril beats give real emotional weight to the 8-12 crowd. Hope Newhouse's narration wasn't reviewed in depth in what I found, so I can't firmly vouch for the listen itself.
