Nine full-length novels written by high school students is a remarkable achievement, and the Richard Powers foreword suggests the literary community took the project seriously. But 864 pages of highly variable quality from nine teen authors without any critical reviews to guide you is a big ask for most readers. This is more a testament to 826NYC's program than a dependable reading recommendation.
