Tammi Sauer and Ross Burach found a genuinely funny premise and executed it well — the unreliable bunny narrator insisting there are no bunnies while Burach's illustrations make the bunnies obvious is a perfect comedy structure for the picture-book age. Kirkus, Publishers Weekly, Booklist, and School Library Journal all weighed in positively, and an Oklahoma Redbud Read Aloud nomination is a nice signal of real storytime value. The book is thin on emotional depth but earns its score on pure comic craft and strong read-aloud energy.
