Children's ✦ Penny’s Take
One Red Sun
Ezra Jack Keats · 2025
70/100
👍 Worth It
Ezra Jack Keats's bold collage work is immediately recognizable and visually distinctive in a way most infant board books simply aren't — counting one red sun to ten dogs through those saturated, textured images is a genuinely different experience than the average early-numeracy board book. The concept depth is minimal and newer counting books have pushed the category further, but as an artifact of Keats's wider visual legacy it earns its place on the shelf for fans of his work.
