Jarrett Lerner has real credibility with reluctant early readers, and the illustrated-panels-on-every-page format is exactly right for kids transitioning out of beginning readers. The projectile-vomit humor is very much in the wheelhouse of this age group and handled at a completely age-appropriate level. The honest limitation is that this title is brand new with zero critical record, so scoring it confidently above the mixed zone is not possible yet.
