The French-inspired illustrations are charming and the companion CD is a genuine asset for little ears learning rhythm and language. But 24 rhymes squeezed into 20 pages leaves each one with almost no room to breathe, and the CD format has aged out of many households. It is a lovely gift item but a thin reading experience — parents can find the same rhymes more generously presented elsewhere.
