Perry the Porcupine delivers a sweet inclusion message with rhyming text well-suited to read-alouds, and the dual purpose as a sight-word reader is a genuine asset for early literacy. The story is very simple even by picture-book standards though, and limited independent review coverage makes it hard to know how the craft holds up against stronger titles in its space. A pleasant classroom supplement rather than a must-have.
