Read-aloud Children's Classics

A decent-sounding anthology of classic tales retold for family read-aloud, with a solid lineup that spans fables, fairy tales, and adventure. The problem is the dossier offers no evidence about the quality of the retellings themselves, and the compiler-not-author format from a niche publisher with no critical footprint leaves too much unknown. The underlying stories are beloved, but you could read many of them in better standalone editions.
