Children's β¦ Penny’s Take

75/100
π Worth It
R.L. Stine knows exactly what an 8-to-12-year-old finds funny, and Bernie Bridges' ghost scheme to protect his friend from a bully is the kind of clever-kid plot that makes reluctant readers turn pages without noticing. HarperCollins ran this series to 16 volumes for good reason. The gross-out humor is mild by the genre's standards and the underlying message β outsmarting bullies through creativity rather than confrontation β is genuinely worthwhile.
