Children's ✦ Penny’s Take
Salamander Rock

👎 Skip It
A cheerful, tactile counting book — foam tails, interactive flaps, rhyming salamanders heading to a party — that does exactly what it sets out to do for toddlers learning 1-to-10. Reader's Digest children's novelty books are reliable commercial products rather than literary events, and this one will not survive a rough-and-tumble two-year-old for long, but as a short-term engagement tool for number recognition it works fine.
