Carter's pop-up engineering is genuinely impressive and the animal-sounds guessing game is perfectly calibrated for toddlers. The format is engaging and educational in the best early-childhood sense. The weak point is durability — pop-up books and toddler hands are a tough combination — and the content is thin beyond the interactive novelty. A delightful gift, but not a book that sustains repeated engagement once the surprise is gone.
