Teaching manners by roasting bad ones is a classic and effective move, and Hample's retro cartoon gallery of offenders — the Nose Picker, the Soup Slurper, the Toy Hog — is memorable enough that kids actually retain the lesson. Kirkus and Publishers Weekly both approved, and the humor stays squarely in the mild-silliness zone. Thin on story, but it's not pretending to be a story.
