π Worth It
Miles Kelly's Super Science series has earned its place in classrooms and home libraries by doing the basics right: clear photographic instructions, safety indicators, built-in scaffolding with a quiz and glossary. At 40 pages it is necessarily shallow, but for a 7-year-old's first encounter with light and sound physics it is a well-designed, practical starting point that parents and teachers can actually use.
