As mass-market teen fiction goes, this is perfectly serviceable breezy entertainment for Sweet Valley loyalists, but there is nothing here to distinguish it from the other two dozen books in the series. Formulaic plots, thin characters, and zero standalone value for new readers add up to a skip unless you are already deep in the Sweet Valley University rabbit hole.
