Eight Victorian ghost stories filtered through a dog narrator is a genuinely fun concept for Wishbone fans, and as a Halloween read-aloud it has real charm. The literary introductions to Dickens and Stoker are a nice bonus. But the franchise format keeps the adaptations shallow, and non-fans have little reason to seek this one out.
