Thirty-four real stories of animal courage — wartime service dogs, elephants, guide dogs — carry genuine weight thanks to Imperial War Museums involvement and a warm Michael Morpurgo introduction. It's inspirational nonfiction handled with care, though a few wartime and 9/11 references mean sensitive younger kids might want a parent nearby. The two narrators handle the true-story chapters well, so the narration is worth the listen too.
