Mel Brooks and Carl Reiner doing absurdist history for kindergartners is a wonderful concept on paper, and the accompanying CD with the original performers' voices makes it something genuinely special for parents who love the source material. Kids get the broad humor and colorful art; adults get the schtick. It works best as a parent-child read-aloud experience rather than independent reading, but in that context it is a lot of fun.
