Children's ✦ Penny’s Take
The Berenstain Bears and the Week at Grandma's

👍 Worth It
Few picture books do a better job of reframing childhood anxiety about separation into genuine anticipation — the fishing trips, the attic, the country hoedown are the kind of specific, sensory details that make a child believe it will actually be okay. This is one of the Bears books that has stayed in print for a reason, and it works particularly well for families preparing kids for a real grandparent visit. Low conflict, high warmth, and quietly affirming.
