Children's ✦ Penny’s Take
The Classic Treasury of Bulfinch's Mythology
Thomas Bulfinch · 2003
70/100
👍 Worth It
Ten of the greatest Greek and Roman myths — King Midas, Orpheus, Daedalus, Hercules — in a full-colour illustrated edition adapted for young children is a genuinely useful classroom and family keepsake. It draws on Bulfinch's authoritative retellings, the illustrations are engaging, and it serves as an excellent first door into classical literature. The condensation necessarily loses some depth, and there are no professional critical voices to lean on, but it does its job well.
