The Death of Mr. Angel

Erik Christian Haugaard · 1992
62/100
👎 Skip It

Haugaard aims for Holden Caulfield territory and produces a narrator with genuine anger and a distinctive diary voice — but Publishers Weekly's critique lands: the moral deck is stacked so heavily against Dick's community that the novel tips into polemic rather than complexity. The murder plot never fully integrates with the philosophical ambitions. A serious effort for its audience, but too uneven to broadly recommend.
