This is a competent, clean retelling of a beloved classic fable — the controlled vocabulary is well-matched to Level 2 readers, the moral is clear and age-appropriate, and the fairy figure is entirely benign in the classic fairy tale tradition. It won't surprise anyone familiar with the original story, and it doesn't add enough to distinguish itself as a retelling, but for an early reader needing accessible text with a meaningful message, it fills that role reliably.
