Dick King-Smith's warmth carries this one - an imaginary Great Dane invented out of pure longing for a pet is a charming hook, and the full five-hour treatment gives the stories room to breathe. I couldn't track down what the other four stories actually are, which makes it hard to vouch for the whole collection, but Evan Milton's unabridged narration sounds like a solid, unhurried listen.
