Chris Colfer retells more than 35 classics with a genuine touch of humor, and reviewers liked what he brought to familiar stories like Cinderella and Jack and the Beanstalk, even if these aren't new tales. It's an easy pick for existing Land of Stories fans and pleasant enough for newcomers, just not essential on its own. Colfer narrates it himself, but I couldn't confirm independently how that self-narration actually performs.
