Children's ✦ Penny’s Take
The New Girl
Nancy E. Krulik · 2007
60/100
👎 Skip It
A perfectly serviceable Scholastic series entry that delivers exactly what middle-grade readers expect — relatable social drama, a quick pace, and a school-fundraiser hook — without adding anything especially memorable. The characterization is thin and the series formula does most of the work. Fine for a dedicated How I Survived Middle School fan, but not a title to seek out on its own.
