Yabbit is a warmly conceived anxiety companion for small children — rhyming text, nighttime imagery, and small incremental courage are all well-matched to the preschool read-aloud moment. The Prindle Institute ethics endorsement suggests it has real discussion depth beyond the fun of the rhymes. It is a narrow book (anxiety-focused rather than broadly entertaining) but it does that job with care.
