👍 Worth It

Usborne's simplified retelling of E. Nesbit's beloved 1906 classic does what it sets out to do — make a great story accessible to younger independent readers. The source material is genuinely enduring (resilience, family loyalty, the goodness of ordinary people) and the Usborne series has a strong track record. Some of Nesbit's literary richness is inevitably lost in adaptation, but this is a solid, trustworthy entry point to a great book.
