Ghost dinosaurs and a Brooklyn bad-luck curse is a fun premise for the 7-to-11 crowd, and Gilden keeps the pace brisk and the humor light enough that the spooky bits never overwhelm. The problem is thin character development and the dated 1991 framing — this one has charm but little staying power. Fine for a nostalgic re-read, but not a priority buy.
