The Story of Medicine

Judy Lindsay · 2003
74/100
👍 Worth It

Judy Lindsay's genuinely global approach — ancient Egypt, China, India, Greece, Rome, and forward — sets this apart from Eurocentric alternatives, and the British Museum archive illustrations are a real asset for middle-grade readers. The brief-chapter format means nothing goes very deep, and the 'future of medicine' sections are now two decades old, which limits its utility as a reference. Still a solid, well-illustrated school-library choice for a 9-to-13 audience.
