Children's ✦ Penny’s Take
The World Almanac for Kids 2001

For its moment, this was a genuinely excellent homework helper — 36 tabbed chapters, puzzles, and a kid-friendly layout that made reference browsing feel like fun. The trouble is that a 2001 almanac is now a curiosity rather than a resource: the current-events content is historical artifact, not reference material. It earns its keep as a time capsule or for nostalgia, but any child who needs real answers today should look elsewhere.
